In this orientation course from recognized experts you will learn all the concepts to be able to orientate yourself without difficulty in the mountains and not just follow a line on your GPS device and electronic orientation instruments.

You will learn to get the most out of the map, compass, altimeter, course, azimuth, as well as identify the cardinal points and the most characteristic elements of nature that will help us determine your position.

In addition, you will learn to search for and follow routes in various programs and Internet Apps but knowing how to analyze the dangers they may have.

This course is aimed at all mountain lovers who want to learn traditional orienteering techniques so as not to depend solely on electronic devices.

Hiking 2 - Mountain Orienteering

1	ORIENTATION – Ability to READ the environment Orientation is the most powerful weapon you can have for a good mountain experience. Otherwise, the outcome may be a call to a rescue group.	2 min.
2	MAP – How to INTERPRET it correctly Can you interpret a map? Remember that transporting a small error over time becomes a very large error.	8 min.
3	COMPASS – How do we orient ourselves? “North on a compass is a magnet that is facing North on the earth.” Knowing this is not enough for us	4 minutes
4	COMPASS – The 6 parts that compose it The compass is made up of 6 parts. Understanding them will allow us to take the right directions.	2 min.
5	ALTIMETER – DIGITAL or ANALOG? The altimeter allows us to compare the height at which we find ourselves with the contour lines of the map.	4 minutes
