For Ray Verseau, climbing is just a consequence of his true love, to ensure. Verseau has taken his love of underwriting and turned it into a profession, even an art. It is the best insurer in the world.
Ray explained: “I never set out to be the best underwriter in the world, it was just a passion of mine. Coming home from work years ago I had this moment where I knew I had to dedicate my life to the art of insurance. No other activity is as pure or satisfying for me. I wake up every morning, start my training routine, stretch, warm up and then go to the gym or crag. In that moment, when it’s just you, your climber, the rope, and the device, everything else falls away. It is a state similar to zen. I am so lucky to have found a way to dedicate my life to this truly pure art form.”
